May 2012 Survey Debrief

Wow, we had such a great response to the recent survey!  Thank you to every one who gave feedback on Yopie’s Store, we had 403 responses all up.

First up, the winner of the $350 voucher was Kirsty Meads, and she tells me that she now has family birthdays all sorted for the rest of the year!

Next – the survey results.  Some VERY surprising results!  They have been curated into topics of interest by our survey whizz Becky Mac.  Here are the main messages we heard about each topic:

Pricing

  • Products are too expensive
  • Great prices and deals in store

Sales

  • Not enough sales/not big enough discounts
  • Thank you for having such big discounts compare with other stores

Design

  • Layout is cluttered and the design is outdated
  • Love the design of your store, it is modern and fresh, easy to use

Marketing

  • Not enough advertising, I often don’t hear about your sales
  • Great marketing, love that you don’t spread your ads all over the place

Facebook

  • Don’t engage well enough on Facebook
  • Excellent use of Facebook to keep in touch with your fans

Free Shipping

  • Get rid of the free shipping – I want to know how much extra I am paying for shipping on top of product prices **
  • LOVE THE FREE SHIPPING!

So it looks like we please some people, some of the time!  I was hoping for a really clear steer of where you would like Yopie’s Store to improve and as you can see from the above results… erm, almost everything we do is considered poorly by some and well by others.

However, one message cam through loud and clear:

“You need to stock a wider range of products!”

So THANK YOU all again – that is a fantastic thing to find out.  Research is underway, with new products coming soon…  Wish me luck!

**An interesting point – the answer is that Yopie’s Store just takes a lower margin (ie we make less money) on the products and absorb the shipping costs.
